Prima Additive Becomes AltForm

11.11.2025

Effective today, 11 November 2025, Prima Additive by Sodick announces its official transformation into AltForm, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the company.
The rebranding follows the majority acquisition by Sodick Co., Ltd., finalized in May 2025, and reflects a strategic evolution aimed at strengthening the company’s position as a global player in advanced laser manufacturing technologies.

A name that represents evolution
The name AltForm stands for Advanced Laser Technologies for Manufacturing.
It signifies a broader technological vision: from the company’s established expertise in Laser Powder Bed Fusion (PBF) and Direct Energy Deposition (DED), to a growing portfolio that now includes remote laser welding, laser hardening, high-speed surface treatments, and integrated automation for laser-based production.
While the identity changes, the core remains the same: the entire team continues unchanged, with the same engineering culture, experience, and long-term vision that have driven the company’s development over the past decade.
