EOS, the leading supplier of responsible manufacturing solutions via industrial 3D printing technology, today announced its acquisition of Metalpine GmbH, a specialist in high-quality metal powders. Having been a shareholder in the company for several years, EOS has now acquired 100% of Metalpine, marking the next step in a successful and trusted partnership.
With this acquisition, EOS further strengthens its strategic focus on materials, particularly in response to the growing demand for titanium additive manufacturing (AM). The integration of Metalpine’s capabilities enables EOS to expand access to high-quality titanium powders produced through Metalpine’s patented atomization process, known for its consistency and performance in demanding industrial applications.
“For many years, Metalpine has been a strong and innovative partner to EOS,” said Joachim Zettler, CTO of EOS. “By integrating Metalpine into EOS, we are taking the next logical step in our collaboration, strengthening our metal materials supply and accelerating innovation, particularly in titanium, where we see significant and sustained market demand.”
For customers, the acquisition strengthens EOS’ ability to deliver tightly integrated materials, parameters, and process expertise – helping manufacturers for fast and effective qualification, improve process stability, and scale additive manufacturing into serial production with greater confidence. Those industries and applications reliant on titanium (aerospace, medical, and high‑performance industrial applications) now garner greater access to high‑quality powders engineered for consistent performance in serial additive manufacturing environments.
Metalpine will continue to operate as an independent company within EOS, maintaining its established brand, organizational structure, and business operations. The company will continue to serve its global customer base, including partners across the additive manufacturing ecosystem, with its high-quality metal powders.
“During the past few years, we have built a rock-solid foundation with EOS,” said Gerald Pöllmann, CEO of Metalpine. “Becoming part of EOS is a natural progression of this partnership, enabling us to further develop our technologies and scale our capabilities while continuing to reliably serve customers worldwide.”
Dr. Martin Dopler, CTO and Head of R&D at Metalpine, added: “Our patented process stands for exceptional powder quality and consistency. As part of EOS, we will further advance material innovation and support the growing requirements of industrial additive manufacturing, while continuing to provide our products to a broad market.”
The acquisition underlines EOS’ commitment to an open ecosystem and continued collaboration with a wide range of partners across the additive manufacturing industry.
