Ashland introduces new Purethane A2018 Water-Based Laminating Adhesive

Ashland introduces Purethane A2018 adhesive, the latest development in water-based laminating adhesive technology specifically designed for metalized film adhesion.

Purethane A2018 joins Ashland’s growing portfolio of high-performing laminating adhesives for food packaging where improved metal adhesion and enhanced clarity are required. In addition to providing high metal adhesion for moderate-to-high levels of moisture, temperature and chemical resistance are required, other performance benefits include:

• superior clarity
• excellent adhesion to metalized and non-metalized films
• good thermal resistance (passed pouch making process with 2% Cat 104 crosslinker on PET/Met BOPP/PE
• FDA compliance for use at room temperature conditions assuming a 2 Mil LLDPE barrier
• passed aggressive ingredient testing with:
o 1/3 water, 1/3 vinegar, and 1/3 soybean oil
o 10 days at 60°C
