Celebrating its 30th anniversary year, RAPID + TCT concluded September 15, 2021 after a jam-packed three-day event held at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL. Over 250 exhibitors convened in person to show off some of the newest three-dimensional (3D) print technologies.
On the Floor
AddUp announced FormUp 350, which is a solution for metal additive manufacturing (AM) using laser powder bed fusion.
Azul 3D launched its first commercial 3D product, the LAKE High-Area Rapid Printing (HARP) platform. It is powered by Azul 3D’s HARP technology, a proprietary version of stereolithographic printing that converts liquid plastic into solid objects using ultraviolet light.
BASF Forward AM discussed its new material for fused filament fabrication (FFF) printing, Ultrafuse PPSU. It was specially developed for FFF printing based on BASF’s advanced Ultrason materials.
DMG MORI unveiled its Lasertech 30 Dual SLM, completing its portfolio of AM products offering powder bed and powder nozzle technology from a single source.
EnvisionTEC and Covestro announced a collaboration of material and printer solutions to accelerate the adoption of industrial 3D printing. Specifically, they presented the combined solution of Covestro DLP resin e-PerFORM on EnvisionTEC’s Perfactory P4K series DLP 3D printer.
Essentium’s HSE 280i HT 3D Printing Platform is designed exclusively for production environments seeking to scale through AM. It features independent dual extruders in which each head is fully independent on both the X and Y axis.
ExOne exhibited X1 Tooling, a new portfolio of 3D printed tooling options for manufacturers looking for fast, affordable, and local production of tools for the final production of plastic, composite, and metal parts.
Inkbit showcased an AM system with integrated 3D machine vision to enable real-time, voxel-level feedback control. Inkbit Vista sets a new standard of speed, precision, and reliability for volume manufacturing.
MakerBot highlighted its Method series of printers, which are considered next-generation desktop 3D printers that deliver manufacturing-grade parts with advanced materials.
Markforged announced Eiger Fleet, a cloud-based software solution designed to accelerate the adoption of AM operations at scale.
Optomec Inc. showcased HC-TBR, a compact, all-in-one metal AM machine that uses directed energy deposition to build or repair 3D metal parts with a variety of alloys.
Roboze presented Prometheus, software developed to increase productivity and obtain an even higher performance of parts from 3D printing systems.
SLM Solutions announced that Morf3D invested in two SLM 500 and one NXG XII 600 metal AM platform, which will be installed at its new headquarters next year.
Stratasys presented materials for the Stratasys H350 and Stratasys Origin One 3D printers and a new Origin Open Material License for the Origin One.
