Packly launches the new product features, adding the special finishings and the 3D visualization of the packaging with embellishment.
The new special finishes available are gold and silver foil and relief spot paint. An important innovation that will allow users to add value to their packaging, but always in full Packly style.
This means no minimum quantities and the chance to get a preview of the artwork with the finishing in 3D.
The online visualization of special finishings in 3D for custom packaging is an absolute novelty. Packly is the first platform that makes it possible to visualize the metallic foil and the selective varnish in real-time on a normal web browser, thanks to a simple link that can also be used on
mobile devices. This new feature is the result of a development work that began more than a year ago and which marks a new milestone for the whole team.
The idea was born as often happens, from the need to solve a problem. For some sectors, embellishment is almost a must-have and Packly could not fail to meet the requests of its many users. But adding a feature wasn’t enough, not for Packly and its web-to-pack vision. The centre of everything is and remains the user experience. For Packly, anyone must be able to make their boxes easily and with the chance to see the final result before purchasing.
The preview of special finishings, with light effects and reflections, is not easy to obtain with the most common graphic design software. Packly meant to solve this issue always in its style and simplicity of use.
These difficulties were also confirmed by the recent survey proposed to the main ones graphic and creative social community ( https://blog.pack.ly/en/packaging-community-survey-a-study-by-packly/ )
Many professionals rate ennobling as an added value (45.9%), much more than multi-colour printing (6.2%).
However, the producers disappoint the expectations of the graphic designers: 50% of them do not find support and choice precisely in the finishing sector, confirming a trend that, although growing, is still far from being completely satisfied. Packly and his proposal go in this direction,
proposing a ready-to-use and affordable solution.
The market immediately responded with enthusiasm to the launch of these new product features. One month after live to site, 120,563 boxes with special finishings have already been created. After Italy, on the international level, embellishments were quite popular in France,
Switzerland and the Netherlands. Needless to say, the most active sectors in the use of these processes are food and beverage and cosmetics.
The attention to the user experience and the fundamental rule of “keep it simple” reveal an essential aspect of Packly’s vision. The aim is to highlight the platform in its being first and foremost a software that simplifies the packaging creation process. From the generation of the die-cut template, the application of special finishings visible in a 3D preview, to the chance to
share the draft with a link up to printing in just 48 hours.
In a sector, where production times are counted in weeks, Packly changes the rules and speaks of days or rather hours. Packly recently launched a competition to become product contributor, aimed at designers and
professionals in the world of packaging. 10 nominees will be selected, who will have the chance to partner with Packly first-hand to test and shape the future development of the platform.
