The International Sign Association (ISA) held its annual expo this month down in Orlando, FL. Over 500 vendors showcased new products, services, and more in the sign, graphics, and visual communications industry.
New Printers on the Floor
Many hardware manufacturers demonstrated new printers. Several also made their debut at the event.
Canon U.S.A., Inc. showcased the Colorado XL-series, an 11-foot UVgel printer with both roll and rigid printing capabilities. It is field upgradeable if future needs change, meaning users can add roll or hybrid features or vice versa. Enhanced UVgel 860 ink offers the ideal combination of quality and durability.
DigiTech promoted automation in its booth, from its 5×10-foot TruFire flatbed printer to Infinite Motion Control’s automated loading and unloading machines that cut down on manual operator intervention. The automatic unloader operator can change sheets of media in under ten seconds.
Epson debuted two new printers, expanding its reach into additional market verticals. The SureColor V4000 is a ten-color UV flatbed printer printing on media up to 27.5×38.5 inches. Ideal for multiple applications, what’s notable is its braille capabilities. The SureColor G9070 is a wider width direct to film printer ideal for businesses looking to get into personalized apparel and promotional materials.
Fluid Color entered into the braille/ADA space with its 5×10-foot RF105. It combines speed, precision, and full-color capabilities to quickly produce ADA-compliant signage without sacrificing visual impact.
Mimaki USA, Inc. launched two products. The UJ330H-160 UV LED hybrid printer is a compact, versatile device allowing users to print on a variety of rigid and flexible material and still offer a wide color gamut. The UJV200 series is a UV LED roll printer that features both white and clear ink.
Mutoh America, Inc. debuted two new products as well. The XpertJet 1681SR Pro is a 64-inch roll-to-roll eco-solvent inkjet printer featureing the newly developed AccuFine HD Pro printhead and an eight-color ink configuration. Meanwhile, it also added to its sublimation lineup with the XpertJet 1341WR Pro, a 54-inch roll-to-roll dye-sublimation inkjet printer.
StratoJet showcased its new True Print Hybrid Technology—Jaguar the 2026 edition. It comes in a new configuration with up to 16 printheads. The hybrid—flatbed and roll—device is suited for specialty applications and a wide variety of materials.
swissQprint ran its Nyala 5 flatbed live. The booth was busy with viewers witnessing the 126×79-inch device in action. It features ten color channels, and users are able to define a new configuration at any time.
Media Moment
Both manufacturers and distributors serving the wide format space had a presence in Orlando.
3A Composites impressed attendees with its locally grown and globally known media portfolio, from SINTRA and DiBond to Fome-Cor and DISPA. The media was printed on in several partner booths as well.
Avery Dennison Graphics Solutions promoted its PrismaPro dry apply color paint protection films, with ten colors currently available in the portfolio and more to come. It previewed Rehlm Architectural Finishes, which feature an air egress liner for quick, easy, bubble free installation.
You may have needed sunglasses over at General Formulations’ booth. The neon display truly showcased the color pop that occurs when using its media products. From laminate to vinyl, cast and wrap films, the company offers it all.
Infinity Media Co. debuted a new bubble-free product line up for GlassApeel. GlassApeel Clear and White Bubble Free are pressure sealed with micro-suction technology, designed for solvent, latex, and UV inks.
Lintec of America featured additions to its ECO product line. The expanded ECO range now includes enhanced UV blocking capabilities, providing added interior protection while maintaining exceptional clarity.
Magnum Magnetics promoted its DigiMaxx Colorado printable magnetic media line, which is designed to be compatible with the Canon Colorado series of wide format printers.
Endless Possibilities
At the tail end of the print operation—finishing—there were quite a few important announcements.
Advanced Greig Laminators displayed its 64 HPT High Production Laminator, which offers speeds of up to 30 feet per minute and versatile finishing capabilities. It is designed specifically for laminating pressure-sensitive adhesive overlaminates to printed vinyl media.
BannerUps by Budnick exhibited its EZ Mount reclosable fasteners for hanging signs and graphics. The solution offers fast and easy installs as well as changeouts on the back end.
Colex Finishing Solutions’ booth housed an array of its product offerings from the Sharpcut Flatbed Cutter to the Fotoba X/Y and laminators from Neschen. Its goal is to offer customers a complete, efficient workflow.
Flatbed Tools brought its knowledge and service to educate potential customers about its finishing options from tools like bits and blades to its newest endeavor, distributing Summa cutters and offering service for the life of the product.
Kongsberg Precision Cutting Systems demonstrated the MultiCam Apex3R Evo, a high-performance CNC router designed for superior edge finishes across a variety of substrates, including wood, high-density foam, aluminum, and mirror-edge finish on thick acrylics. Its X24 was also in the booth.
Visitors at Summa’s booth got a firsthand look at the S Series vinyl cutters, including dedicated direct to film models. Additionally, it featured the entry-level V Series Optima cutter. The company also showcased the flagship F1625 flatbed cutter.
Zund America brought a few different pieces of finishing hardware to the show, with each illustrating the effectiveness of not only the Zünd hardware but equally as important the automation factor thanks to the Zünd Cut Center interface.
Speaking of automation and workflow, SAi demonstrated its Flexi product line, as well as a few other systems. A special focus was on the Flexi DTF Pro solution, which automates the direct to film and direct to garment printing process with features like Smart Color Knockout, 1-Click Half Toning, and White Layer Preview.
Save the date for the 2027 edition of the ISA Sign Expo. It returns to Las Vegas, NV from March 31 to May 2.
